Devils Tower (7 photos)
We make the drive across the border to Wyoming to see Devils Tower. We walked the mile trail that wraps around the tower. It was great to see the rock climbers climbing up the sides. A little disappointed that we didn't see any aliens though.

Harney's Peak Hike (24 photos)
Harney's Peak is South Dakota's highest point at over 7,200 feet. We took the easy route starting at the Sylvan Lake trailhead. It was about a six hour trip traveling eight miles round trip. We packed our lunch and ate it at the summit. At the top is an old, no longer used fire watchtower. We took Patience along for the trip, she did very well and got a lot of attention from other hikers. Donovan did really well to, Jessica & I were wearing ourselves out trying to keep up with him.

Needles Highway (43 photos)
Near Custer, South Dakota - this twisty road is named after it's granite spires that are sprinkled throughout the drive. If you take a trip to the Black Hills of SD, this is one of the top 10 things you must do!

1880 Train (5 photos)
The train is a steam engine that runs from Hill City to Keystone. It's about an hour ride one way. Great way to see the countryside. The only downside was the train sounding off it's extremely loud whistle at every crossing... all 20 of them along the way. A small price to pay, and it only took a few hours for the headache to go away :)
